From the time I was 12 years old, I was working in some capacity, to earn a little money, and to get to know people. I repeated the pledge of allegiance, every day of my elementary and junior high school days, with the closing phrase “…and justice for all.” During my active military service I deployed with the First Infantry Division in some inhospitable places, but it was always with a view to defending what I held precious, to be able to live in the “land of the free, and the home of the brave.”  Read more... Educated in the public schools of Richmond, Mr Powell graduated from John Marshall High School.
